The "Tasokare Hotel" is a place where time stands still in an eternal twilight. It exists as a limbo for souls who have reached the end of their lives but have not yet decided—or realized—if they should pass on to the afterlife or attempt to return to the world of the living. Neko Tsukahara arrives at the hotel with absolutely no memory of her identity or the circumstances of her death. Taking up a job at the hotel to pass the time, she assists other eccentric guests in uncovering their lost memories by searching their rooms for clues. However, as she delves deeper into the mysteries of the guests and the hotel itself, Neko must confront the "incidents" that led her to this twilight world and decide her own final fate.
